Control Room
Like the Studio Floor, the Control Room was designed for versatility. Its facilities include three Sony DVCAM 1500 decks, special effects generator / switcher, chroma-key control, waveform/ vectorscope, three camera control units (CCU), an Orion / SE Character Generator, a Macintosh-based graphics workstation, two 8-channel audio mixing consoles, CD and cassette players, a QuadraVerb reverb unit, and audio exciter / compeller units.
At any given time, the Control Room functions as the master control in a live or live-to-tape production (in conjunction with the Studio Floor).
In addition to its normal hardwired configuration, the Control Room is also outfitted with audio and video patch-bays and tie-lines so that other Media Lab facilities can be integrated into the existing system. The Control Room is primarily utilized by students enrolled in Communication 431: Video Production Lab I.
