Audio Editing Suites

With two audio suites the Media Lab provides a convient and well equipped solution for student projects requiring voice over, music tracks, lip sync, and/or sound effects.

Audio Suite #1 has Digidesign's 002 system, a cassette record/playback deck, a miniDisc, a CD player, a DVCAM record/playback deck, and various microphone inputs.

Audio Suite #2 is equipped with Digidesign's 001 system. It also includes an audio board, a cassette record/playback deck, a CD player and a MiniDV recorder/playback deck and a voice-over microphone.

Both rooms have access to the soundbooth and are available through the reservation system.

Our copyright free music library and sound effects library consists of: Narrator tracks – over 58 CDs with many different styles of music; Fresh – 12 CDs of engaging music; Production Garden – 10 CDs that samples their vast library; the famous BBC sound effects library; Fresh Produce – another collection of sound effects and, finally, Omni Tracks – a third sound effects library.

CDs may be checked out for use within the Media Lab.
