Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Journalism, Travel Industry Management, and Communication. Courses in writing, management, marketing, economics, finance, accounting, mathematics, and statistics are advantageous. Experience or study in advertising and promotion, consumer behavior, market research, sales, cost analysis and communication methods and technology will be helpful.

Position: Public Relations Internship

An internship with the editorial department at Hawaii Pacific Entertainment is unpaid and provides the opportunity for students to gain work experience in the editorial, publishing, graphic design, communications, marketing, and administration fields. When an intern begins work at Hawaii Pacific Entertainment, they start with a general orientation of the company and its policies and procedures such as equipment usage, attire, lunch break, phone etiquette, absences, client orientation and introduction to company personnel. Responsibilites are then reviewed and projects initiated. Throughout the internship a supervisor will review the intern's performance, critique work assignments and make recommendations for improvement. Once the internship is completed, the supervisor will provide an evaluation for the intern and for the university, if required for grade point average score.
